The National Hamster Council offers membership to everyone (UK and worldwide) with an interest in hamsters. It is the oldest such organisation in the world.
Navigating this site
We provide a wide range of advice and information on hamsters, from General Care , to the Standards by which they are judged. To help you navigate the site, here is a look at what information the different areas hold.
The Information Sheet area is divided into two main sections. In the General Section you can find information, tips and advice on all the basics of hamster care, from Housing (cages) to Sexing .
The NHC Info Section provides you with information on the NHC (for example, what a hamster is judged on, what prefixs are etc).
The Articles Section is also divided into two main sections. The Hamster Keeping section provides you with articles and reviews on a range of popular topics (for example Hamster Home Review , Substrate (bedding) Review , even a look at different Wheel options !).
The Hamster Showing section answers many of the basic questions asked by those wishing to start showing their hamsters.
Joining the NHC
If you are interested in hamsters then the NHC is the place for you. It is great for those with one pet hamster, to those many hamsters that they take to shows!
